**(In the video I said ProBlogger I meant CopyBlogger– All bloggers look the same to me!) No Twitter. No open laptops. No flash photos. No wifi. No PROBLEM. Respect is what the Audience Conference said yes to. The way in which this event was put on and handled has inspired me to want to put on my own event. I want to live life and conduct business with the least amount of bullshit possible. The audience conference gave me the feeling that you can be real and do business.
The Audience conference will not be televised. At some point video from the event may be released in a slow manner, but some moments in the conference is not meant for the masses. If you’re looking for a take away thought from the event it’s this: In short if you’re not being yourself and telling your story then you suck. To make money and be happy while doing it, you have to leverage what works for you and build off of that.
Hire a professional web site designer who knows what they are doing and has proven themselves in the field.
A professional web designer will be up to date on current design trends, and will know how to properly script your site with web standards compliant code.
Make sure the web developer you choose uses web standards compliant code.
This includes using XHTML and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). There are many benefits of utilizing Web Standards in your code, including accessibility and search engine friendly code. Web Standards Code makes your site future proof. A great way to check up on your web developer is to test a few pages of their site with the W3C Validator (http://www.w3c.org), although, just because a site doesn’t validate does not mean you’ve found a bad developer.
